Hi all,

it would be very nice, if there would be a focus stacking / HDR modul in
Darktable, so that it would be possible to make focus stacking / HDR
direct from RAWs in Darktable, without the necessity to convert the RAWs
first in Darktable with further processing in a second program like HUGIN.

Cheers,

Steve

Darktable does have a built-in HDR function. Highlight the relevant images
in the light table and then under "selected images" click "create HDR." It
will generate a DNG by stacking the selected images. It doesn't do any
alignment (I assume that is a hard problem, and not something Darktable is
interested in duplicating since Hugin already does that pretty well).

hey,

just a small comment on our hdr merging. it merges in raw, so it can
be done very easily in very little code while being radiometrically
meaningful (not much custom blending, masking or any magic going on
there). the flipside is it does require perfectly aligned images. so
for more complex hdr work for photography you may want to take a
detour to other software.
